LTE Cat-M1 or NB-IoT SIM Card

The MG100 is a cellular and Bluetooth based device. For the MG100 to connect to the cloud (Cumulocity) and display your sensor data, it must have an LTE Cat-M1 or NB-IoT connection. This requires a SIM card with an active data plan from your MNO or MVNO of choice.

Cumulocity Account

For this demo you’ll be using Software AG’s Cumulocity platform.. This Cumulocity platform provides a web interface to manage your devices and to visualize your sensor data that is being sent up to the cloud via the gateway. It is great not only for a demo or POC, but also it provides a great leaping off point to scale up and go to market.

In the next page of this guide you’ll create a Cumulocity account and register your gateway device.
